About Our Company

Craig Van Batenburg is the owner of Worcester EVs

This is a D/B/A of Van Batenburg’s Garage, Inc, (the parent corporation). Craig also owns and operates the Automotive Career Development Center (ACDC). They are located in the same building on two levels at 24 Wells Street in Worcester, Massachusetts.

In 1977 Craig decided, at age 26, to open a Honda only independent repair shop. Honda was the leader in clean cars back then and that was attractive to the self-proclaimed tree-hugger. Now, on May 5, 2025, over 48 years later, Craig will reopen his shop to zero emission EVs.

What had Craig been up to?

Craig was a shop owner and lead mechanic specializing in Honda cars from 1977 to 2004 in the town he lives in, Worcester, Massachusetts. Craig closed his independent Honda repair shop in January 2004 to help technicians worldwide get an education in hybrids and then EVs when the Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt came out in 2011. From 1999 to 2008 Craig ran a third business being of a few Massachusetts Certified Emission Training Centers that taught light duty technicians how to fix tail pipe emissions on cars that failed our dyno test. It has always been a clean climate endeavor that got Craig out of bed. Now he can help you keep your ECV in top shop, for a select few.
